Ascent Trip ReportOne mile north of Silver Lake take FSR 4-10 (Bear Flat Lane) for 10.2 miles to FSR 2516; then 13.2 miles on FSR 036; 0.7 miles on FSR 036 to a locked gate. The walk along the road from here to the summit L.O. is about a mile with approx. 600' of gain. The present 28' treated timber L-4 tower was built in 1941, replacing the earlier 20' structure from 1932. Dick and Patti Ray, who staff the L.O., were in the process of moving out with the end of the fire season.
