Ascent Trip ReportAfter visiting Fredonyer Peak, I returned to CA 139 and north to the Eagle Lake Rd. I followed it around this sizeable natural lake to USFS 21, connecting with FSR 32N73, which took me up to Antelope Peak.
The L.O. was built in 1978 as the first solar powered one in the United States. Though in Lassen NF, it is staffed by Calfire personnel. I enjoyed talking with Harry Lashmet, a veteran Calfire professional who welcomes visitors and has much information to share.
The visitor register book dates to 1953 and the days of the previous L.O. I returned to Susanville via USFS 21 and CA 44, the Lassen National Scenic Byway
