Ascent Trip Report4.8 miles from Beatty on OR 140, turn on Sprague River Rd; follow it 18.2 miles through scenic Sprague River Valley to Lone Pine Rd (FSR 65. County Road 852); 6 miles on Lone Pine Rd, then right on the well paved Williamson River Rd; then 5.5 miles to FSR 4542; follow it, FSR 4555, and FSR 150 to Calimus Butte. The L.O. has been regularly staffed since 1922. The present structure was built in 1933. There is a ceremonial Indian site next to the L.O. I returned to the Williamson River Rd. and Lone Tree Rd via Chiloquin to OR 97.
