Ascent Trip Report

From OR 199 take the paved Onion Mountain Rd (FSR 25) 7.4 miles past Four Corners, a major road junction, and from there 4.3 miles to another junction with a road and sign noting "Onion Mountain L.O.--4.3 miles." Follow this road 2.6 miles to the locked gate 1+ mile below the summit. The pleasant walk from the gate climbs a couple hundred feet, partly through shaded forest, to emerge at the broad, open summit and Onion Mountain L.O.
