Ascent Trip Report

On day one, Rick and I backpacked from the Big Pine Creek trailhead up to Third Lake, then climbed Temple Crag via its class 3 Southeast Face Route. From Third Lake, we climbed up to Contact Pass, then dropped down the other side several hundred feet or so. Next, we climbed up a chute and a talus slope to the ridge, then down climbed to a notch, then climbed up to the summit; the section of the route between the notch and the summit has an exposed step across that we used a rope on. On day two, we day hiked up to Seventh Lake, then climbed Cloudripper via its east ridge. On day three, Rick and I backpacked out to the vehicle. Please see my 07-13-1989 Cloudripper trip report for additional trip stats and info.
