Ascent Trip Report

This was day 4 of a 9 day backpack trip to climb 8 peaks located along the King-Kern Divide that are on the SPS list. From Lake South America, we day hiked cross country up to Harrison Pass and then up the slope to the top of Gregory's Monument. Next, the group climbed the peak's class 3 south ridge to the top, using a rope at an eight foot or so high exposed drop-off along the way. In addition, we used the rope to protect the climb back up the drop-off on the return trip. Please see my 08-18-1994 Thunder Mountain trip report for additional trip stats and info.
