Ascent Trip ReportOn day one, Bob and I backpacked from North Lake up to Lamarck Col, then down Darwin Canyon to Evolution Valley, then up to our camp at Evolution Lake. On day two, we climbed Mount Mendel via its class 3 Southwest Face Route. On day three, Bob and I backpacked up the JMT, dropped our packs and then climbed Mount Huxley via its class 3 West Shoulder Route, then backpacked over Muir Pass to our camp at Helen Lake. On day four, we headed south from Helen Lake over to and then up Charybdis' class 3 northeast ridge to its top, then returned to camp. On day five, we again headed south from Helen Lake following a circuitous route to the saddle located between Peak 13,041 and Mount McDuffie. From the saddle, Bob and I climbed up McDuffie's class 3 north ridge, staying about 150' below the ridge on its west side, to a wide chute. Next, we climbed up the chute to the north ridge, which we followed to the summit. Afterwards, we returned to Helen Lake for a very long day. On days six and seven, Bob and I backpacked out over Echo Col to Lake Sabrina.
