Ascent Trip Report

I led this as a Sierra Club hike. The 10 participants did all three bumps that were 8160+ including Gary Suttle's book-described high point of 8170' which had the best views by far and where we had lunch. We then hiked over just past the 8084' point where we had even better views of the Mokeolumne Gorge. We then went back to the 7900+ saddle and seven of us (except Theresa, Cindy and Frank) went on to point 8495' which was the top of a Bear Valley ski run. Claudia almost went for a swim in the holding pond that Frank and I thought would be used to store water for snow-making. We then went downhill along to Bloods Ridge and over Bloods Point (7824'), before contouring around, sometimes along a pack trail, to meet the 4x4 road we started up, which we followed a mile back to the cars
