Ascent Trip ReportBeautiful day for a hike.
The trailhead is on the north side of Route 127, between civic addresses 5185 and 5149, directly across from the trailhead for Sam Orr's Pond Nature Trail and Taggarts Brook Trail. Parking is either on the shoulder of the road, or in the grassy area at the top of the inclined gravel driveway. Follow the trail which parallels Taggart Brook until you reach the overhead power lines. Turn east and follow the trail under the power lines. Within a 5-minute walk, you'll reach a clearing. Turn north by the hiking sign. The trail is marked with orange-red ribbons.
Near the summit, you'll be afforded a nice view south of Sam Orr' Pond, Birch Cove and beyond, the Bay of Fundy.
The trail is maintained by The Nature Trust of New Brunswick, but there isn't yet any sign indicating it's the trail to Chickahominy Mountain. |
