Ascent Trip ReportFinished my stress test at the cardiologist and was looking good. Dr said I was in good shape keep on walking and hiking. So I treated myself to another walk up from Lake Dora up to the Mount Dora City HP and then drove over to Sugarloaf Mountain (30 minutes away) which is the only hill feature in FL that has any real prominence and views out of character for FL so it is worth doing a second time.
My first visit was a drive up; so today I parked at the base of the topographic depression feature and walked up as fast as I could and shared the road with the bikers that train on the great hill and ran back down it. Ben L's report gives the details of the family that claim the technically highest spot (on private property) and the tower and the ridge that runs through this highpoint can be visited on the tower site without trespassing.
So, between the two "hikes" together, I figured out how to get 4 miles and 300 vertical feet walk in - which is very hard to do in this ridiculously flat boring state!
