Ascent Trip ReportDrove south on US Hwy 71 from Kimball. Left the highway for unpaved roads to drive south and west. I eventually found myself on Country Road CR-6S heading west when I passed road CR-5W and turned south. A few miles down the road I came across a sign that read 'Welcome to High Point Bison'. This road took me to the high point. Don't forget to pay the entry fee to keep this high point open and accessible. Beautiful rolling plains in all directions, a few farm/ranch houses in view and a huge wind generating farm to the south in Colorado, but no bison. |
