Ascent Trip ReportI headed from the west on Stony Run Road. Once you see a stone spring house on the left, slow down and look for the Kessler Trail sign. Park on the right as far off the road as you can (or park near the spring). I followed the Kessler Trail into the woods and boy, with 96 degree heat and bugs that 300’ elevation gain in about a quarter of a mile really hurt. So much so that when I crested, I flew along the trial, passing the crest and the highpoint. After I started dropping off the north side of the ridge, I backtracked, lobdelized around the Highpoint, and bagged Buffalo Mountain for good measure. My “I will be back in 10 minutes” to my patient wife became closer to 40 minutes, so a peace offering was in order. We headed down to Rt 45 and to the small town of Hartleton for ice cream at Chilly Willy's...HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
