Ascent Trip Report

My friend and I started out mid-day on the Brook trail. Took this @ 1 mile from trail head to Bee Line, which was easy and followed a secluded area along a nice cold river. Took Bee Line for 2 miles back to Brook and then about a mile to summit. I'd recommend this trail to anyone. It was an awesome route up. Not too difficult. Fun. Pleasant. Lots of cool things to see, especially on the Bee Line, a little swimming hole that cascaded into a shallow pool. Perfect for a cold dip on a hot day. Summit was spectacular. We sprinted down the 3.5 mile Brook Trail to our car in less than 80 minutes. I did not like taking Brook all the way down - rocky, loose debris and roots. Not pleasant on the knees. We got attacked by gnats, flies, mosquitoes and bees. I itched for a week. Swam in every possible river hole along the Kanc the next day, which reached into the 90's as well.
