Ascent Trip Report

I took a side trip to East Watatic after summiting its parent peak, Mount Watatic.

The trail to the east peak started on the edge of the summit clearing, near where the peak itself could be seen. It dipped down moderately through woods and brush into a small col and then ascended more gently to East Watatic's more clear summit.

The views from East Watatic looked better than from the main peak, but that's my opinion. Most of the same things could be seen, but more clearly. There was also a survey marker on the summit. I stuck around for a few minutes and then returned to Mount Watatic's summit to think about what to do next.
