Ascent Trip ReportThis was probably my most well-dressed high point to date.
My wife’s cousin’s high school graduation afforded me the chance to visit Jonesboro, Arkansas. So, together with my wife and 2 newly minted brothers-in-law we set out north from town after the celebratory dinner.
From US-63, we went north on US-49 and went past Arkansas State University.
Just past the university, turn left (north) on AR-351 and drive 8.1 miles to the three contours on either side of the road.
The contours are right by the road side. I think the west side contour was higher than the other two, but all might have been disturbed when the road was cut and the driveways put in. All are easily attainable in khakis, sport coat and tie.
I don’t think I won any converts to high pointing and the brother-in-laws still give me a hard time about “standing in the driveway in Arkansas”
