Ascent Trip ReportThis HP turned out to be much more straight-forward/easier than I read, a northbound trail and a westbound bushwack ..... 6 miles. 3.5 hours RT.
At the TH parking at the north-end of Pinnacle Road there are 2 TH signs, one to Chase lake and the other "Trail to County Line Lake, 3.5 miles". This is a new blue blazed maintained trail that contours the north side of Pigeon Mountain on the way to the County Line Lake, located west of Pigeon Mountain.
I left the TH north bound after a short distance I came-to/stayed right of Pinnacle Creek for about 2+ miles where the trail crosses the very small creek and climbs northwest on the slopes of Pigeon Mountain to a height-of-land at the west side of the mountain (about 2.5 miles from the TH).
I started my bushwack here by traveling/climbing generally west .5 miles to the summit.
I left in open deciduous woods, turning to mixed woods higher up. Half way up I stayed left at some large rock faces always looking-for/finding the easy way, steep pitches in places.
Once on the ridge I zig-zagged my way through the open areas, nothing difficult. I chose my spot at a fairly obvious HP, GPS 43.23194,-74.42229.
I returned the same way.
