Ascent Trip ReportWhat a neat hike! Heading up Blue Mountain, the gravel road was in great shape, must have just been resurfaced. At the top, we saw a horse and buggy! There were two Mennonite couples and a baby that took the lovely day and drove their buggy to the top and were enjoying the view. As we drove down 3 Square Hollow road, there was a memorial to a crashed C-119 cargo plane on the right. Definitely worth heading back here to explore the crash site. Blue Mountain road was in decent shape, but you need a high clearance vehicle. After the two houses on the left, you have a little over a mile to go. I parked and hiked it, as it was a nice day. |
