Ascent Trip ReportStarted as a nice early morning hike; made it to the saddle in great time for the final summit climb. Unfortunately bad weather rolled in very quickly with severe lightning, thunder, and rain. We held out under some cover for about 45 minutes chatting with other hikers, but the weather got worse so we decided to head down. Lightning crashed over our heads the entire way down- somewhat scary. Spent the rest of the day/evening in Flagstaff- the weather never improved- we made the right decision. We will definitely be back to climb Humphreys. |
