Ascent Trip ReportI tried to climb Bridge Mountain, but a snowstorm had hit the area the night before down to 5000'. I made it to the top of the Escarpment hiking in heavy snow and ice, but the heavy rime of ice all over the rocks up there made the 3rd Class climbing on the top of Bridge Mountain more than I was willing to undertake without crampons. I scouted out the area near North Peak and leading down to Bridge Mountain just for fun, hiked around a bit, and returned to my vehicle via the North Peak Trail and Rocky Gap Road. |
