Ascent Trip ReportI did a solo hike up Rose Mountain and its two subpeaks, The Pinnacle and Lyndeborough Mountain, on 2/4/2012.
I continued from The Pinnacle to Lyndeborough Mountain. There was a path that crossed the summit and led to one of the forks of Helen's Trail and the Rose Mountain snowmobile trail. I took the snowmobile trail. It went steeply downhill and then eased up. It passed through and by stone walls and some clearings. There were signs pointing to Rose Mountain and The Pinnacle along the way. My microspikes really helped. About 0.4 to 0.5 miles into the hike from The Pinnacle, there was a path to the right of the trail. I took it, considering I had a lot of time to hike. It led to the summit of Lyndeborough Mountain.
Lyndeborough Mountain's summit is open, but woods block most of the views. I did see Mount Monadnock, though. There were some cairns and other rock structures. I rested here for a few minutes and then continued to Rose Mountain.
