Ascent Trip ReportThis trip report covers the whole hike from the Reservation Rd. trailhead to the summit.
After eating a good breakfast, my Dad and I arrived at the trailhead at about 12:15 PM and got going soon after that.
The North Mountain Trail from Reservation Rd. to the North Mountain Bypass was easy for the most part. Grades weren't that bad, and the trail was well broken in. It wasn't long before we reached the North Mountain Trail up the mountain.
This section of trail started off steep for a fraction of a mile and then eased up. We then started hiking across the mountain ridge. Grades were mostly easy. The trail went down for a little while after crossing the west peak and then went up to the main peak. There were a few decent viewpoints along the way, which had views of Middle and South peaks and farther east. After passing a few cairns, we reached the summit, marked with a cairn and a survey marker.
North Mountain's summit is viewless, for the most part. We took a water break and then went back across and down the ridge to my truck.
