Ascent Trip Report

An easy bushwack around dense vegetation ..... 200 yards, 20 minutes RT.

After visiting Scrag Cedars we continued east on Hwy 12 to MM79.6, just past Try Yard Creek, on both sides of the road are solid cedar bushes, a Geodetic Survey Marker is 60 yards up the road on the north side.
I walked south on sand path ways, finding my way around the dense stuff, stomped around some before picking my spot at obvious high ground full of of thick ground cover, could hardly see the ground. Some vines with thorns. My GPS read 35.14447, -75.88045 at about 80 yards from the road. The PB coordinates puts the spot in a much lower elevation.

From here we went Areas 3 and 4 of Ocracoke Island HP before going to Knoll Cedars.
