Ascent Trip Report

The Friends of Lopez Hill have established a nice preserve with well maintained trails. The trail signs use pictographs representing the name. Burnt Stump Trail has a stump with a whisp of smoke. The entry point for the preserve is off of Lopez Sound Rd on the east side of the hill. You can print a trail map from the F of LH website.

The summit does not have views but it does have a Bhudda and a hammock that you can relax in.

If time permits, Shark Reef reserve has a short walk to a rocky shore with open views to the Strait of Juan de Fuca. We ate lunch at the Village Market grocery store and my chicken curry salad was very good.
