Ascent Trip Report

After spending a fair amount of time at Deception Pass watching the water swirl from the undercurrent, watching Eric hang like a monkey from under the bridge and taking in various other wonderful sights, we crossed the bridge and started our ascent towards Goose Rock. It was a cool and pleasant day. A wonderful path full of ferns and moss covered trees led the way to the summit. At the top of the trail, it opened up and there was a large bald full of interesting rock striations and wonderful vistas. I got to meet the first of many dogs, Juneau Diana. After reaching the HP and taking in the distant Olympics scattered with clouds and hint of sun we headed back down the mtn path where we came upon a lot of different dogs. Big Pyreneese dogs, rottweilers, and curly haired labradors. In the parking lot we came upon a 1 year old Pembroke Corgi named Crash. What an adorable dog! So full of life. I love dogs. And seeing so many on my trip only added to the wonderful experience and memories of the day.
