Ascent Trip Report

Second (& probably final) ascent of this peak for 2011 looking at the summit register. Got off work at MCMWTC Pickel Meadows at 2pm and had time for a hike! Drove to the Emma Lake Trailhead without any problems in the work minivan - made it to within a quarter of a mile of the trailhead in the snow. Took a direct route up from the lake, using some nice Class 2-3 spines. Advice for future hikers, take the north ridge directly from the trail below the lake. It's pretty obvious and much nicer to hike up. I hiked down this way. There is a summit register in a glass jar. I forgot my camera back in my room at Pickel Meadows, so no pics of yet another amazing Sierra Nevada sunset. I made it back to the car by dark for a change. I have been colder on desert peaks in the sun than on this peak on a perfect Sierra Nevada day. It didn't get below freezing from what I could tell.
