Ascent Trip Report

***Private Outing***
led by Matt Hengst, Jack Kiefer

Well graded dirt road across "Eastern Nevada Wilderness Area" ends at a parking area and trailhead. Route begins on a jeep road and soon goes cross country northwest across a section of undulating alluvium (Jacks Pockets)before ascending NNW up a steep ridge around bump 4642 to a saddle. From the saddle a sweet section of class 3 rock is climbed following a well ducked route along parallel ledges. At the top of the class 3, the route turns northeast and generally traverses along the vertical to the the eastern side of the peak where the summit ridge is gained by travelling north roughly mid-distance between Moapa and the eastern bump on the ridge. The final approach follows a breathtakingly exposed knife-edge ridge with dramtic dropoffs on either side. Mind blowing views from the summit.
