Ascent Trip Report

When we started out on the Hunt Trail at 6:00 am, it was a sunny, pleasant day. By the time we cleared the tree line, the clouds had rolled in. When we reached the Gateway, it was nothing but fog, and by the time we reached the summit, it was cold, raining, and we could only see about 30 feet in front of us. We got the "money shot" at the summit sign, then headed back down.
As this was our first serious hiking outing with the family, we were the last ones off the mountain, at 8:00 pm. Yes, it took us 14 hours and we couldn't walk properly for a day or two, but it was a great family experience !!
