Ascent Trip ReportI took the Grandfather Trail to the peak, and the Underwood Trail on the way back.
I believe the highest point on the mountain is NOT where the Grandfather and Daniel Boone trails come together (on the rock where the white and blue blazes form a nice cross) but a bit west of that on a rock north of the trail between the Watauga View junction and the first ladder on the way to the cross. I touched them all, but I wouldn't claim the summit if I came up the Daniel Boone Trail to the cross and stopped there.
