Ascent Trip ReportFrom US 250, 1.5 miles SE of the WV/VA line, take VA 601 south. The sign at the junction says the road ends after 1.06 miles, but it actually runs 1.6 miles to the end of state maintenance at a gate. Drive 1.1 miles to the east slope of Bear Mountain, whose broad grassy summit is 500 feet west. |
