Ascent Trip ReportFrom SW, intended to take Josef's route, but after quickly scanning his TR and the map I mistakenly started 500m S and hiked unpaved road to Coral del Peñón. Before reaching there I'd realised the cliff could be an issue, and re-read the TR. However I spotted a promising line so continued, up steep slopes of pine and semi stable gravel.
I located the area of less steep cliffs, rising in steps and ramps, and (1) scrambled up at L end, YDS3 with obvious wear marks (but possibly an ibex route, I saw some higher up). Climbing up and R on easy but exposed ground led to a 10m wall with no apparent way up, but (2) gaining a ledge and crossing L-R (exposed and delicate but nice, small holds, short hand traverse) leads to a steep 3m YDS4 climb (again, possible signs of traffic). Above this is an easy (a little exposed) traverse R with various possible routes ahead for section (3). In reality this proved the most difficult. There's probably a good route, but I forced a scrabbly layback at about Severe 4b (British trad). I'm not sure if Ibex could manage this section, but I did find a couple immediately above. From here it's an easy walk R around a corner then easy ground leads up L to summit ridge. First Torca del Nieve P25m ish then main summit.
I belatedly obtained Josef's track (he sent me a copy as I had temporary problems with Ramblr web page) for a less exciting descent route. Ironically when I reached the summit (stone pillar in cairn) there's a motorbike parked! Maybe used Deividas route from NE? Josef's descent route worked well. Thunder and rain starting by the time I reached the car.
