Ascent Trip ReportAwesome climb with my friend Aaron, 11 hours round trip from the car. Rode bikes around Elkutna Lake to the East Fork trailhead. Took the East Fork trail to Tulchina Falls and did some minimal bushwhacking and quite exposed scrambling following an occasional red flag up into the rocky basin above. Took a really long scree gully which turned into a scramble gaining the west ridge around 5300'. Followed the ridge to the summit via chickenshit gully, which we did not bring a rope for, but was quite scrambly. A little fresh snow blanketed the final couple hundred feet to the summit. Retraced our way back down the mountain to our bikes. Awesome day up the Chugach State Parks highest and most prominent peak. |
