And so I returned to scramble the mountains and streams–the thin places where I'm most apt to feel fully at home, alive, and intuitive.
Highpoint of the most alpine subrange, North Palisade is described as the classic peak of the High Sierra and the finest alpine peak in California. After a warm up climb of Bear Creek Spire I realized the time was ripe, researched route options, and set out the next day at a relaxed pace. I had plenty of time and energy to add Polemonium Peak, considered an additional 14er by some, improvising a crack climb route that was spicy fun. Mountain friends, I left some meat on the bone as far as technical Palisades routes and summit blocks; awaiting someone who will join me with harness and rope.
