Ascent Trip Report

Loop hike in "Parc Régional des sept chutes" in Matawinie MRC in Lanaudière region, about 2 hours from Montreal. The loop up and over Mont Brassard has several nice view points along the way, often complimented with picnic tables. Also many patches of lichen throughout added to the scenery. After the descent of Mont Brassard, walked the blue trail along Lac-Rémi which provided some nice views from below the 500 foot high cliffs - very nice. There is only one waterfall in the park, despite the name, and we don't really get a good view of it, so this is the only slight disappoinment of the day.

Weather was unseasonably warm which made it easy to take time to enjoy the many views. Fall foliage in rather early stages here, but some nice bright pockets of color.
