Ascent Trip ReportI walked alone from the campsite at Brunnen to Hohenschwangau and then on route 211 (i.e. on the German side) to Säuling (2038m & 2047m). I descended on the Austrian side to near Säulinghaus, and then east skirting round the base of the steep cliffs of Pilgerschrofen back to Germany, Hohenschwangau and the campsite. The ascent was a little difficult due to snow and steep slopes. The campsite was left at 10.00am, Hohenschwangau at 11.00am. The summit at 2038m was gained at 3.00pm and after a short rest the 2047m summit gained at 3.15pm. Hohenschwangau was reached at 6.15pm and the campsite at 7.15pm. |
