Ascent Trip ReportNow my all-time favorite glacier climb. Above treeline the views are hard to beat. Almost all type 1 fun, except for the water crossing, and the steep forest was annoying at times. Even the boulder field wasn't bad at all - some of it can be bypassed with a climbers trail marked with cairns. We climbed to high camp (7,600 ft) on the first day and were the only group there. High camp has 5-6 flat, sandy tent sites, some of them surrounded by short rock walls. There is also a composting toilet, and we found a slight trickle of water from a melting patch of snow (took a while to fill our bottles, but still faster than using a stove). I doubt this water source will last long. From camp to summit the next morning took barely more than an hour.
