Ascent Trip ReportSummit plaque is a tribute to Dr. Gaillard Stoney Tennent (1872-1953), "who in love of these mountains, established organized hiking in N.C." Dr. Tennent was the first president of the Carolina Mountain Club, which was founded in 1923.
