Ascent Trip Report

Our Scout crew left Beaubien at 9,500 feet and ascended Big Bonita followed by Big Red before making it to Cyphers Mine in the Philmont Scout Reservation. Weather was clear although we had to race up the 300' summit cone of Big Red to snap some quick pics and get over the other side before a lightning storm crashed upon us. we ate lunch on t he far side of Big Red and listened to the lightning strike the summit. It was an amazing climb.
