Ascent Trip ReportThe fourth route I attempted today was the charm. Gated communities, lots of no trespassing signs that I didn’t feel felt right. Went to Snyder Gap thought the ridge line there might be good. But was hesitant. Turned around and ran into an older guy Charles Honeycutt. Told him what I was trying to do. He seemed excited I had interest in hiking the mountain. I parked on his land and he gave me pretty good instructions on how to get to the peak. Great views along the way. Posted my track, turned it into a loop. Old cemetery, good views, old creepy abandoned cabin with 1949 calendar and lots of mason jars. Great little bushwhack considering I almost turned around and went home. |
