Ascent Trip ReportLater in the day on Day 2 of a three day loop backpack. Day 1 was the Boulder Mail trail to the rim of Death Hollow. Potholes in Mamie Creek at trail crossing provided my water until Death Hollow. 100 yards beyond the edge of slickrock arriving onto the east rim of Death Hollow on the BMT, an obvious trail junction appears (right). This is the historic Bowington Route to Slickrock Saddle and the Escalante River. The trail passes within 100 vertical feet of the summit on the west side. I completed the loop after a second night of camping on the Escalante River. Took last water at the mouth of Death Hollow, not trusting the Escalante River purity.
