Ascent Trip Report

I parked my car at the road fork at 45.952666, 11.495388. Restrictive signs but reasonable conditions on the roads higher up. Start walking on the unpaved road. Later, I took a shortcut trail to Baita Bivio Italia. There are patches of snow on the ground, but nothing complicated. From the Batia Bivio Italia, it's still an unpaved road, but mostly covered with hard packed snow. The summit is visible. At some moment, the road splits. The road goes R and the trail to the summit goes L. I chose the last one. In summer, it would be a pleasant trail in the dwarf pine forest. However, now it is partly covered by soft snow and I need to search for an alternative on the side or break a trail. After one hour, I reached the steeper summit slope. It is snow free. Soon I'm on the top. The summit is marked by two crosses, the second of which is slightly lower. Two outcrops are good candidates for HP. However, the difference is only about half a meter. Good views of the big, partly snow-covered summit plateau. It was still nice weather, despite the not-so-good forecast. I was descending the same path, trying to recall all the good snow patch detours I had made on the way up. A nice morning hike.

2h20 up, 2h10 down, 4h30 roundtrip.
