Ascent Trip ReportWe drove down to near Deer Creek on a steep, narrow, 4WD road but had to turn back at a downed tree just before the creek bed and parked a little higher. From there we followed the road down to Deer Creek, followed the creek west, and found a primitive road heading north. We followed this road but then turned off onto an overgrown road indicated on the map that was to lead us north and around the east side of Stanley's northeast shoulder. On the steep east slopes of the northeast shoulder the road became completely overgrown and appeared to be washed out. From there we climbed directly up the steep eastern slope towards the northeast shoulder following game trails were we could but eventually we were stopped by head-high thick brush that appeared to cover the slopes above us. |
