Ascent Trip Report

Third and final ultra of our 7-day Baja expedition with S Song. The initial part of the climb is deceptively easy with a path that is relatively easy to follow with prior GPS tracks. There was one 6-foot unexposed cliff to descent down to camp but otherwise was class 2 imho. Day 2 is much tougher with non-stop class 3 boulder hopping up 3800’ with very challenging route finding even with GPS tracks. This is not a good peak for solo climbers unless highly skilled as it is easy to veer off into 5th class terrain.

Stats for an out of shape/fat dad with a UL pack:
day 1 = 6h
Day 2= 8h
Day 3= 5h

Arthur felt he could have done the round trip in 7h if he wasn’t slowed down helping out his old man.

Definitely recommend this peak as the best ultra in Baja.
