Ascent Trip Report

This was on our trip itinerary but our local guide advised us that the PKK werer currently active in the visinity, there had been a recent engagement with the Turkish army; fatalities reported. So we climbed the neighbouring summit (P500+) immediately to the NW instead.

We gather that the normal ascent is from the valley to the E of the summit. Probably YDS 2+ i.e. we were told there is nothing technical but no guarantees!

We observed that it appears feasible to ascend from the NW, up the valley to gain the steep but apparently non-technical SW ridge, but this would involve an overnight camp or perhaps a very long day with probably in excess of 2000m height gain.
