Ascent Trip ReportWe parked our car in the village at 1.252777, 35.485055. Our initial plan was to use Adam's track and come from S. It was agreed that we would be escorted by two gunmen. However, at the last minute, they called to inform us that there were security concerns and that we needed to hire an additional seven gunmen. From the map and satellite images, we see the trail from the SW side. We decided to check this option first. If it fails, then we will go back to the initial plan. We arrived at the village and had a chat with the elderly. Success! We got permission to climb the mountain! They even provided us with a local guide, and ensured that our car could be left securely. The guide was probably in his seventies, but I must admit, no one of us was able to catch up with him. He was walking relaxed with his jacket, hat, and stick:).. Nice.
The trailhead is in the village. It gradually ascends through the meadows. One will need to jump over multiple fences. Beautiful, green terrain with a redwood forest. The top is quite flat, offering superb views. It was a late afternoon hike, so a few minutes later we were heading down. This time the local guide chose another route. So we walked a nice loop. It was an easy, relaxing, and memorable hike.
