Ascent Trip Report

After checking out Canoe Hill and its three peaks, I finished this round trip with the slightly imposing Fix BM. Sidestepped the Canoe Hill ridgeline to bypass the congested Spanish Springs Canyon and popped up the Dry Lakes gully. Playas were muddy and occupied by three grazing horses. Approached the high point from the southeast with excellent views of Clark Mountain and Flowery Range in the distance. Summit was very windy. Headed back to car via jeep trails, not without a convenient Grade 1 ankle sprain after traversing over frosted-over talus and fixed with tape.
