Ascent Trip ReportDecided to go on a peak bagging adventure this weekend, bagging orphans and consolidating trips, so started it off w/ Friday 7 mile night hike of Liebre (an orphan). Arrived at the 0.1 mile dirt road drive to the TH and my passengar car could only make it about 150'! High clearance could make it, and easy after that section. Talked to a couple w/ rec vehicle and horse trailer who did make it thru the rough patch. They were watching a movie outside on a flat screen and were planning to ride their horses up the PCT in the morning.
Enjoyed an amazing array of stars. PCT was in great shape. Talked with a couple of PCT thru hikers who were night hiking to take advantage of the cooler temps, but were far behind some PCT thoroughbred thru hikers we met 2 weeks ago much further north near Olancha peak. Only animal of note was a skunk that was very slow leaving the trail. Bagged the peak at 11:15 pm. A contender for the flatest peak on the HPS list.
