Ascent Trip Report

w Monica and the randomites (emily, spruce, karine, mike s, jesse, monika, stephanie, al, george, dan, nancy, and mike). Up the Flume Slide and down Old Bridle Path. Could not have had a better time crossing the ridge - the steep Flume Slide Trail started the day off with a challenging route and made the rest of the climbing from Flume to Lafayette seem easy by comparison. EVERYONE that participated in this trip should feel proud of what they accomplished - we took the steepest route to the top without incident. Even though it was slightly overcast once we reached the exposed portion it was OK since we still had views without the sun beating down on us. The black flies were the only annoying part of the trip, and even they weren't that bad. It was nice to see some of the regulars but it was also good to welcome some new people (Stephanie, Courtney, and Mike) to a more advanced level hike.
