Ascent Trip Report

Driving from the west through Kenton, you'll pass through the small town and there will be a sign on the left for Black Mesa Bed & Breakfast. Turn left here and follow the road for a few miles to the Black Mesa Nature Preserve Trailhead it will be on the left. It will have a large gate decorated with tiles having animal tracks on them.

A four mile hike up, trail clearly visible. Every mile there is a bench and sign. At mile two the trail will turn left and you'll hike up the mesa for a half mile or less, a little over a mile on the top to the marker - which is seen it the photo for this peak.

Added bonus, head south on a visible trail about 200 yards for a nice lookout.
