Ascent Trip Report

A short southbound trail walk .... 400 yards, 15 minute RT.

From the summit parking (east of the fenced-in Communication Tower) I walked south 200 yards on the wide trail to the Highpoint, an outstanding open rocky summit at top of a cliff. I chose my spot at 41.55962, 72.84375. Make sure you pick a clear day for some awesome views.

From the west end of Meriden, at Mirror Lake Park on north side of W Main Street, we found Mirror Lake Drive at west end of the Lake and drove north then east around the Lake (past Notch Road) to Reservoir Road. We turned left to an open gate under Hwy I691 (Sign says it closes at 4:45 hours) and drove north 1.2 miles to a left on Peak Road (north end of reservoir), 1.37 miles come to a fork.
Stay right .4 miles to the West Peak summit parking beside the Communication Towers.
Stay left .4 miles to the East Peak summit parking for the Castle Craig Tower.

"YOU KNOW WHAT THEY DID IN THE OLD DAYS WHEN IT RAINED. THE LET IT RAIN." ...... Canadian saying for don't worry about things you can't control.
