Ascent Trip ReportA drive up.
After climbing Wachusett Mountain, for the second climb of the morning, we traveled south on hwy 140/31 (going through Princeton and Holden) to Paxton. From the hwy junction 56/31 at the cemetery next to the First Congretional Church, we drove north on hwy 31 (Maple Road) for .5km to a height-of-land and a Water Tower on the right, we pulled-in the driveway to the Tower (just next house #58).
The whole area is fairly flat, I walked 100 yards to the Tower, stomped the whole area, having difficult picking the highground. A house behind/right of the Tower has definite highground but I don't think its natural, I went to the house for information and found no one home. I chose my spot 70 yards up the driveway from the road and 10 yards to the right inside the tall trees. My GPS read 42.31362, 71.92231. The flat area extends north of Maple road into the woods, I walked the woods trying to find higher ground with no luck.
From here we moved south to Asnebumskit Hill.
